"This five roomed riad has traditional Moroccan opulence with just a touch of Parisian chic, which makes for a sophisticated retreat."

Purchased and renovated by a Parisian couturier, Riad Samarkand is an authentic early 19th-century luxury riad located in the very heart of Marrakech’s medina. Combining traditional oriental features with contemporary touches, Riad Samarkand invites guests to experience serenity in a luxurious and verdant setting.

The facilities

The jade green pool is a great way to cool off from the Moroccan sun; it’s also bordered by lush tropical foliage, providing seclusion for guests. Alternatively, the invigorating hammam is also available to guests seeking premium relaxation. Body scrub, massage treatments and hairdressing are also offered at Riad Samarkand. For sunbathing, the terrace has several lounge chairs and sofas, all elegantly upholstered in white.

Also, the latticed deck offers a shaded area on the terrace, and is great for reading or napping. Overall, the terrace is the ideal place to take breakfast and admire the Atlas Mountains. The daily Moroccan breakfasts include fresh fruit juice, crepes with honey and various dairy products. Additional meals are prepared by the luxury riad’s cooks, but are available only upon request.

The rooms

The five immense suites are all individually designed with aspects of the Orient, and include elements like intricately woven rugs, hanging iron lanterns, carved wooden furniture and fine silk upholstery. The spacious bathrooms also pay tribute to Moroccan design, with plastered walls, mosaic tiled floors and brass fittings.
