Entering the Mon Hotel in Paris is a bit like walking into a super-exclusive members club. From the bold black walls with accents of red and white, to the funky pink chandelier, this is a luxury boutique hotel that defines modern Parisian chic.
The facilities
The Mon Hotel’s restaurant could double as a night club. Its swanky purple walls, black tables and violet chairs are impeccably cool. Whether enjoying the delicious French-Argentinean fusion cuisine, or sipping a signature cocktail, Paris’s fashion-forward crowd are out in full force.
Fitness fanatics will be pleased to note that the boutique hotel is currently adding a spa and fitness centre that will take up most of the bottom floor. The colour scheme here is no less modish than the rest of Mon Hotel; the walls are painted in purples and chocolates.
There will be massage rooms where personal service is a priority, with treatments designed specifically around the guest. A steam room with optic fibre lights on the ceiling gives the illusion a starry night sky. The fitness centre will house top-of-the-line cardio equipment and will allow guests to enjoy as many French pastries as they desire while still staying in tip-top shape.
The rooms
Upstairs, the design aesthetic of Mon Hotel becomes even more apparent. The walls are graced with French artwork, including Claude Mojica Sorbac’s Cryptic. This boutique hotel uses a fine art agency within the city to rotate the paintings periodically. In this way, guests get a fix of the contemporary French arts scene with every stay.
The 36 rooms of this boutique hotel are divided up into Premiere, Deluxe and Executive classes. They have a sleek, contemporary feel, but with a definite focus on comfort. Chic black-and-white prints of Hollywood’s Golden Era decorate the walls, and tributes to Marilyn Monroe can be found throughout.
The bathrooms could be mini-spas in themselves; some have stand alone tubs and all have showers that double as steam rooms and decadent l’Occitane bath products. All of the typical luxury amenities expected of a luxury boutique hotel can be found in the rooms, including an LCD TV, air conditioning, espresso machine, mini-bar and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access.
